The Susie Spector Foundation Privacy Policy
We are committed to our users’ right to privacy and to keeping personal information private and secure. You can visit the Susie Spector Foundation (SSF) website anonymously without sharing any personal information, but should you choose to share personal information voluntarily we have developed this privacy policy to inform you of our policies and practices regarding information we collect when you visit us online.
The SSF website is owned and operated by The Susie Spector Foundation for the benefit of our members, volunteers and other visitors interested in animal protection and welfare. Our headquarters is located at 3940 Laurel Canyon Blvd. #1409 Studio City, CA 91604. SSF reserves the right to modify or amend this privacy policy at any time and for any reason. How and Why We Collect Information
Information you provide voluntarily
SSF collects and maintains certain personal information about you when you send us an email, complete any of our online forms, request information, donate, or subscribe to one of our online news alerts. Information collected and maintained may include your name, mailing address, email address and any other information collected in the forms. You may be asked to provide credit card information to become a member of SSF, contribute to SSF or purchase products or materials from susiespectorfoundation.org. SSF maintains an opt-in policy for its email communications which means we only send email to individuals who have requested such mailings. We will not share, sell or rent your email address to another organization.
Other Information
Our website also collects some other information that cannot identify you personally when you visit our website. This information includes your IP address and your domain name. Our website logs these IP addresses and domain names to monitor the use of our site. We use the aggregate information to measure the number of visits to our site, the average time spent on our site, the number of pages viewed, and various other site statistics. This information is used to improve the quality of our site for members and other visitors.
How we use this information
We may use the information you provide to contact you regarding animal-related issues we think may interest you, to keep you updated on our programs and/or to extend an invitation to you to support our programs and initiatives. Each recipient of our electronic communications can quickly and easily “opt out” of future contact by following the instructions on any electronic communication we send.
If you have become a member of SSF by making a donation we may make your voluntary information, such as your name and mailing addresses, available to other animal protection organizations. We never disclose credit card information. SSF uses very strict standards in determining which reputable animal organizations become part of our network to ensure they are committed to the protection of our members’ privacy and to our mission. If you are an SSF member and would like to review, update or remove your information, or if you do not wish your information to be shared with other animal organizations, please email us.
Security
SSF uses generally accepted, industry-standard security systems, software and encryption technologies to protect against unauthorized access to our servers, equipment, and other components of our online presence. This includes using industry-standard security systems to protect credit card processing information. The companies that we use to maintain our database of donor, supporter and email subscriber information are considered industry leaders and employ the most technologically advanced and sound security practices.
Please note that SSF will never send you an email that asks you to provide personal information, such as credit card or banking information. Please beware of emails that look like they are from SSF and ask you to provide personal information, as these emails may be phishing scams.
